TikTok has become the platform that gets the most traffic in recent years. Now, the China social networking company is testing a new function to integrate Google search into its own in-app search results.
Radu Oncescu, an application research expert, showed how some searches in TikTok applications made the same request on Google.com. During the test, users will see a small box in the middle of the TikTok search page, inviting users to search for the same term on Google.
At present, this function is not available to all TikTok users, but is only tested internally in a small group of users. On the other hand, TikTok warns users that it is not responsible for the results provided by Google.
Google knows that young people nowadays use TikTok to get answers to questions they want to know. In fact, Prabhakar Raghavan, Google’s vice president, previously said:
“We have learned over and over again that a new generation of Internet users have lost the expectations and mentality we are used to. In our research, about 40% of young people don’t use Google Maps or Google Search when looking for places to eat lunch. ”
This is an important behavior change, because it will affect the company’s marketing methods, and marketing methods must adapt to the company’s communication methods. Young people spend a lot of time on social platforms. When searching, the audience does not need to leave TikTok, which makes the search more efficient and the company gets more potential customers.
